The parish includes Bridgefoot, Little Clifton, Chapel Brow and several outlying farms and houses, in an area bordered by the River Marron, Lostrigg Beck, and the River Derwent. The population of Little Clifton Parish as of 2021 was 487.

The X5 bus between Workington and Penrith runs through Bridgefoot.
Local and national government representation
